She’s the Aussie Beauty with one of the most sculpted bods in the industry and the kind of girl next door natural beauty you would kill for, yet Jesinta Franklin is refreshingly real and the most low key model you could encounter.
Despite jetsetting the world and facing up glamorous campaigns for the likes of Olay and Dior, the Australian model, TV presenter and former Miss Universe is most content when she’s at home, with her hubby and relaxing over a home cooked meal… our kind of girl!
As a model who has to juggle ‘busy’ with ‘balance’ to stay sane and maintain a luminous glow, we can’t help but want in on the secrets to how she maintains inner calm, a toned physique and that natural beauty all at once! So, when given the chance to find out, we asked Jesinta to share with Amodrn the wellness rituals and beauty regimen she swears by for keeping ‘cool, calm and collected’ year round.
When you wake, what morning rituals set you up for an awesome day?
“I always start with a glass of warm water and lemon, check my emails, catch up on the news, select a podcast and then put my exercise gear on and head out the door for a power walk or run.”
Food wise, what do you love to fill your plate with?
“I prepare as much food as I can at home and love a daily bone broth, especially in the cooler months – I’m all about making broths, soups and slow cooked meals.”
“My food philosophy is relatively simple – I like to and eat organic, nutrient dense wholefoods. But I do treat myself every now and again – whether that’s a couple of glasses of champagne or some chocolate. It’s all about balance and keeping it real!”
Let’s talk exercise – do you like to mix it up or stick with one fail-safe method?
“I’m all about mixing it up to keep things interesting, it keeps you motivated and gives you the chance to try new things. At the moment I am loving Barry’s Bootcamp and going for long bush walks on the weekend.”
What’s the secret behind your sculpted bod? Do you workout every day?
“Back in the day I would work out six days a week no matter what, but as time has passed I have learnt that listening to your body and resting when you are tired or flat out with work is so important. Now, I am much more gentle on my body. I try to move my body daily, sometimes that is light stretching or yoga and other days it can be a hard run or a boxing session. I just listen to my body and do what feels right.”
What songs inspire you to move?
“I have created a few public playlists on Apple Music with my favourite workout tunes. It all depends on what kind of workout I am doing. For cardio I like something fast and upbeat like house music and for boxing I enjoy RnB.”
Do you have a go-to activewear look?
“I usually wear head to toe black when working out, I don’t know why but that’s my uniform! In terms of my outfit, I like high-waisted, long tights and a crop top or t-shirt as well as a cap (for extra sun protection when working outdoors) and all black or white runners.”
Let’s talk beauty routine, how do you get that glow?
- Olay Luminous Whips: This moisturiser is the perfect primer under makeup and reduces shine for up to 8 hours.
- Marc Jacobs Sugar Sugar hydrating lip gloss: It’s the perfect pinky nude that is long lasting.
- Face halo makeup removers: Reusable makeup removers that are a great eco-friendly alternative to makeup wipes. They are machine washable and great for removing tough makeup, especially waterproof mascara and eyeliner.
- Oribe Super shine balm: I use this in my hair when I am in a rush and don’t have much time to do it. I squirt some in my hands, rub them together and work through my hair to create a messy, undone look.
- Olay Hydrating Magnemask with magnetic infuser – I use this every second night before I go to bed to give my skin an extra boost of deep hydration. I wake up with my skin feeling plump and fresh.
When it comes to wellbeing, what is your favourite way to unwind?
“I love cooking dinner for me and my husband, I will pour myself a glass of wine as I do it and always find it so relaxing after a long day. Just as long as I don’t have to do the dishes afterwards!”
Lastly, what are the self-care rituals you swear by?
“I always attend a weekly acupuncture session, love taking a nice bath on a Sunday night and will take a daily walk while listening to a podcast. Self-care is so important and something I try to practice daily.”
