New Yorkers, prepare to upgrade your lunch al-desko because your favourite salad spot just got a whole new offering.
In collaboration with Mission Chinese Food and James Beard Award-winning chef Danny Bowien, sweetgreen is presenting its brand new Tiger Bowl ahead of Bowien’s premiere of Mind of a Chef.
Available specifically at all New York City locations through January 3rd, the new bowl is priced at US$12.15, and is a play off MSF’s current Tiger Bowl.
Bowien’s repertoire is chock full of modern Asian-American flavors and dishes, and the Tiger Bowl is no exception.
Filled with organic spinach, organic wild rice, shiso, shredded carrots, cucumbers, spicy sunflower seeds, pears, kimchi, sesame roasted tofu, and nori furikake, the bowl is topped with the chef’s signature Tiger Dressing.
“We are big fans of Danny and Mission Chinese Food — that’s why we are excited to bring his bold flavors to sweetgreen with this Tiger Bowl,” Nicolas Jammet, sweetgreen’s co-founder, said in the company’s press release.
“Super happy to be doing a collaboration with sweetgreen,” adds Bowien. “I’ve been a fan for years and what we’ve come up with together showcases all their awesome produce while displaying the distinct flavors of Mission Chinese Food.”
The limited-edition bowl is not the first collaboration the salad bowl company has released in recent months. Just last year, they announced a similar teaming with Jessica Koslow of Sqirl, so you know you’re going to get a hearty dish whenever the company releases a new collab.
Filled with fiber, vitamins A and C (thanks to the spinach), and tons of other nutrients courtesy of the crunchy and fresh vegetables, the bowl is the stuff of vegetarian dreams (check out that tofu!).
