MoMa's Quiet Mornings Mindfulness Series Is The Most Relaxing Way To Start Your Day

The Museum of Modern Art is at the top of most NYC tourists to-do lists, thanks to its contemporary (and often puzzling) installations. But for the last year, they’ve been attracting a slightly different crowd. MoMa just celebrated the first anniversary of their Quiet Mornings program — where on the first Wednesday morning of every month, the museum transforms into a pop-up meditation studio.

To say the Quiet Morning sessions are the perfect way to start your day would be a massive understatement. Not only do you get to enjoy a meditation session in the peaceful MoMa garden, you get a full hour to take in museum’s amazing art before the crowds arrive. Meditation and Monet, what more could you want (apart from maybe a muffin and mocha afterwards!) They’re not any old meditation sessions either — they’re full mind-body experiences integrating breath, sound and music.

The next MoMa Quiet Mornings session is on Wednesday 1 November from 7:30 am-9:30 am. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for full-time students with a current ID and free for kids. MoMA members also get free admission and can bring guests for just $5. You can find out more about MoMA Quiet Mornings here.
Want to have yourself a Quiet Morning on the West coast? You’re in luck, because LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) is getting a Quiet Mornings pop-up in November. You can keep up with the latest details here.
