Ever since Khloe Kardashian announced her pregnancy in December, the reality star and fitness inspiration has faced criticism from followers on every aspect of motherhood. But when it came to her fitness routine, the 33-year-old media icon was quick to defend her choice and commit to her fitness, in spite of the harsh words.
For years, the star has been candid about her struggle with fitness and her weight. She’s always been open with fans throughout her wellness and weight loss journey.
Most recently — and as the creator of Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian — she’s shown us what it really means to commit to a routine. Trained by famed celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson, she’s been kicking butt and taking names when it comes to working out, and you best believe that the pregnancy wouldn’t change a thing.
But some fans and followers were not too happy when they discovered that Kardashian hadn’t exactly slowed down her workouts as she was expecting.
Just days before Christmas, she Snapchatted her workout, which included a step machine, resistance bands and weights, no doubt proud of her dedication.
“I love that I can finally snap my workouts again … but Merry Christmas Eve and more workouts to come,” she Snapchatted.
But fans didn’t exactly take to it. Though fear not, Kardashian clapped back:
“For the ones who think they are physicians all of a sudden… MY doctor and I communicate and my workouts are cleared and highly recommended,” she tweeted, while sharing a link to a FitPregnancy article on why exercising during pregnancy is a plus. “Thanks kiddos! Don’t make me stop sharing s***.”
And experts agree. Working out throughout your pregnancy — and continuing the routine you were doing before conceiving — means that you’ll be less likely to gain weight, and you’ll enjoy all of the health benefits. Plus, getting the energy boost and becoming more flexible and fit is a good way to keep you mentally and physically in shape during pregnancy.
And Kardashian is living proof. Take that, haters!
