Forget balloons and naked cakes, in true Kardashian style, Kim went next-level with her baby shower and dedicated it entirely to CBD.
Hailed for its ability to treat chronic pain, reduce inflammation and ease anxiety, CBD are three little letters that are taken the health and beauty world by storm at the moment, making its way into ingestible products and skincare thanks to its powerful antioxidant properties.
CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is one of the chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the plant, however, unlike marijuana, it doesn’t contain THC, the psychoactive element responsible for getting you high (click here for the do’s and don’ts of using CBD).
“So, because I’m freaking out, and the baby’s coming in, like, two weeks, I thought, “What better way to celebrate than to have a little CBD?,” she was quoted saying at the baby shower.
Taking to Instagram, Kim shared snaps of the event which included guests indulging in CBD-infused products such as oils and bath salts to get seriously zen.
Guests also participated in a group sound bath—an ancient Tibetan healing practice which involves lying in savasana while practitioners use tools like crystal singing bowls, chimes and a gong to essentially, bathe you in sound in order for you to reach your higher frequency.
Famous attendees included the likes of Chrissy Teigen, Paris Hilton and celebrity hairstylist, Jen Atkin.
Kim and Kanye’s fourth child is reportedly expected to arrive in early May via surrogate.

In Australia, CBD oil is classified as a Schedule 4 drug and can only be prescribed by a doctor for certain conditions in which the patient has to be eligible.
