There’s no denying that a good concealer is a makeup bag must-have. It can be used to camouflage dark circles, hide blemishes, correct redness, or even highlight your facial features. But, most of us are well aware that finding the perfect concealer, like finding a flattering pair of jeans, is no easy task. Skin type and undertones need to be taken into account, and formulas don’t always live up to their promise (or price tag!). Not to mention, there are millions of choices out there.
So, what are the tried-and-true concealers on the market? We decided to ask some top beauty gurus to find out. Because after all, if a pro relies on it, you know it’s good.
Keep scrolling for their holy grail picks (spoiler alert: one concealer is that good, two of the pros swear by it!)

The Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer
Why: “It’s the most full-coverage concealer I’ve used but the consistency isn’t cakey or thick, instead, it’s super lightweight and comfortable to wear!”

The Concealer: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
Why: “I have a lot of Bobbi Brown complexion products in my kit and it’s mainly because of their ability to blend. You get coverage, but with a smooth, undetectable finish. This concealer has a creamy texture and a semi-matte finish, which means it sets very well and lasts longer than light liquid formulas. I use it mainly under the eyes and I use two shades; a warmer, darker than foundation shade to correct shadows, then a lighter than foundation shade to brighten.”

The Concealer: Too Faced Born This Way Concealer & MAC Studio Finish Concealer
Why: “My skin is what I consider to be very “normal”. It swings slightly to the dry side and I get the occasional blemish. I mainly apply concealer to brighten up my under eye area and to cover any redness around my nose. For this reason, I love to use liquid concealers that don’t crease or dry out my sensitive under eye skin. My current favourite is the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer, which I’ve been using daily for at least six months now. In saying that, if I have to cover a blemish I’d use a product with a thicker, creamy consistency so I would turn to the MAC Studio Finish Concealer for areas that need the extra coverage.”
