It’s incredible to think that four years ago Carbon38 didn’t exist.
Aside from the fact that we can’t imagine the world without it (how did we ever find activewear before?), it’s amazing to see in so few years how far the brand has come. What started as the “Net-A-Porter of fitness” (before they launched their own, of course), is now a thriving e-retailer that not only stocks the latest and greatest in spandex and lycra but also has its own equally-chic active label.
Since Carbon38 launched their private label late last year, they’ve dropped seven signature collections—and we’ve loved every one. There was the Sayang Collection, which had nods to the soft tones of Indonesia, the Passport Collection with feminine flares and frills and now, the Moto Collection.
Launching last week, Carbon38’s Moto Collection is tougher and more tomboy than the rest. Inspired by the brand’s roots in California, “From the unbridled energy flowing through our city’s downtown to the palm-lined horizons, [it] reflects the boundless opportunity and romantic optimism of the Californian landscape.” So what does this mean? The way we take it, it’ll unleash the renegade within. In Cali, people aren’t afraid to show who they are and that’s what this range is about. Think performance leggings with moto-inspired styling, French terry pullovers and high-gloss accents. Coming in black and “wine” (red, as we like it) the 10-piece capsule collection is shiny, tight and seriously cool. We know we harp on about athleisure pieces that can take us from workout to work and barre to brunch (can we add another cliché?) but seriously, Moto can. It puts two fingers up to authority and gets two thumbs up from us.
