With Fashion Week in full swing State Side, the flurry of high-fashion designs and leggy supermodels has us on the lookout for the newest trends. But one announcement, in particular, caught our attention. Prabal Gurung is a fashion favourite, and we’re all too happy to discover the luxe brand is branching over to athleisure wear.
Introducing: Prabal Gurung Sport
You may have heard of Prabal Gurung before: they’re the brand responsible for dressing everyone from Michelle Obama to Kate Hudson. Their newly released line of athletic gear has been designed in collaboration with NYC retail favourite Bandier. It is touted to be the ultimate in sportluxe fashion, matching statement pieces with more versatile street wear. Expect bold straps, detailing, mesh panels and pops of colours. And if it’s good enough for Beyonce, then it’s definitely worth the wardrobe envy.
We’re particularly impressed with the practical designs and functional fabrications that seem to tick all the right boxes. The 12-piece collection has everything from leggings, sports bras, tops, and even a motorcycle jacket. With prices ranging in the $105-$395 range, we like to see it as a wardrobe investment. Our favourite piece? The colour block mesh high performance leggings have an added dash of colour and mesh detailing so you can stay cool and look good while breaking a sweat. With a high waist design, their oh-so-flattering figure hugging fabric will suit just about any body shape (we’ve previously mentioned why we love the lift, tuck and trim styles).
