We love pretty much everything about the warmer months. We love the long days at the beach with friends, being able to leave the house without a jacket (even at night!), eating lunch in the park on sunny days…the list goes on.
But one thing we always conveniently forget about when we’re getting all nostalgic for summer is inner-thigh chafing. You know, that horrible feeling when you’re walking around in a dress or dress on boiling day and you can feel your thighs rubbing together like they’re trying to start a fire.
While it’s affectionately referred to as ‘chub rub,’ rest assured it happens to people of all shapes and sizes. But just because it happens to everybody, doesn’t mean you have to put up with it or avoid wearing pretty dresses in summer. With a few simple tricks, you can say “seeya!” to the dreaded chafe this summer.
Smear some Vaseline
Vaseline isn’t just great for chapped lips or smearing on the dry, irritated skin on your nose when you’ve had a cold. Many people swear by it to stop chafing. By applying the jelly to your inner thighs, it creates a protective barrier and stops them from pulling and rubbing at your skin.
Dust some talcum powder
The reason inner-thigh chafing is so much worse in summer is because you sweat more. One trick to keep chafing at bay is to sprinkle a little talcum powder on your inner thighs before you go out, as it’ll help absorb the moisture.
Become a Megababe
This genius product is almost constantly sold out β and it’s not hard to see why! A single swipe of the toxin-free Megababe formula creates a friction-free barrier that allows thighs to glide past each other instead of chafe. We’re also obsessed with their Bust Dust Anti-Boob Sweat Spray. You can join the wait list for both products here.
Pop on some shorts
One of fave summer hacks is wearing a pair of stretchy shorts under your dresses and skirts. Not only will this help you avoid chafing, it’ll stop you from flashing everyone if a gust of wind blows your skirt up. Win! We love Thigh Society’s range of anti-chafing slip shorts β available in a range of colours and sizes S to XL.
Try a Bandelette

If you’re after something a little sexier to protect your thighs, get yourself a Bandelette. While they look like garters, they’re actually thigh bands designed to give you comfort and protection against chafing. You can check them out here.
