5 last-minute holiday destinations that won't break the bank

Sun, sea, and sand, awaits!

With the Christmas break just around the corner (scary, I know), a spontaneous holiday in your own city is just what the doctor ordered. It could be the perfect opportunity to explore and discover places you wouldn’t normally think about. Yes, we’re talking about the ‘staycation’. The advantage of this kind of holiday is that you won’t have to break the bank paying for flights like you would on an overseas trip. Best of all, you may even discover something new about your own city.

Amazing holiday locations that don’t cost a fortune

Diamond Beach is one of the most pristine beaches on the NSW coast. Six kilometres long with a peaceful atmosphere, frolicking dolphins are never far. Not to mention, it’s only a 20 minute drive from Forster. We suggest looking for the many resorts and cottages that fill the surrounding area, either through the local real estate agents or Airbnb.

It boasts an inviting beach that stretches for two kilometres and also offers snorkeling and diving amongst the popular surfing spots. For food, you can’t go past Rick Stein at Bannisters for local oysters and fresh seafood. But, if you’re not a fan of seafood, Tallwood is a must-visit.
