As I wrote about here, I recently went off The Pill after being on it for nearly 12 years. While I’ve managed to keep my skin under control so far, there’s been another interesting (and annoying) side effect. My once borderline dry hair has become crazy oily, thanks to my body’s sebum production levels going in to overdrive. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for shiny locks. But this is definitely more greasy than glossy — in fact, it looks exactly how I did when I was going through puberty when I was 13. Not a good look!
Never one to just let a problem sit, I immediately starting researching products that can help tame greasy hair. I was surprised to discover that there really aren’t a lot of hair products out there specifically targeted for oily hair! Go to any chemist and you’ll find hundreds designed for dry or coloured hair, but nothing for oily! Luckily, they do exist — you just need to dig a little deeper as they won’t necessarily be described as being for greasy hair (it’s not very sexy marketing.) But to save you the hassle, I’ve rounded up 7 must-have hair products for gals with oily locks.
