Because your travel plans shouldn’t eliminate your fitness routine, there’s a brand new fitness hotel in Chicago that’s about to make sure your workouts don’t fall by the wayside when it comes to vacation.
The Hotel at Midtown has officially opened, and the 55-room boutique hotel is located inside the Midtown Athletic Club Chicago, so all of your “I can’t work out while on vacation” excuses are no good here.
Going from a tennis complex to a self-proclaimed “sports resort,” the building has transformed into a 6-floor and 575,000-square foot oasis that includes more amenities than you can possibly imagine, and the hotel, which is housed on the fourth and fifth floors will take up nearly 35,000-square feet of space. We did the math—that’s a whole lot of room to work out.
Known for its tennis program, the company is adding a slew of other fitness options for its guests.
CrossFitters will have their very own gym, and anyone can take advantage of the 40-foot indoor turf field (or the 60-foot outdoor one), and enough cardio and strength equipment that you would never ever get bored. On top of that, you can try your game at any of the three squash courts, the boxing studio (Everybody Fights is located right in the resort), the two different golf simulators—that’ll let you perfect your swing—and private and small group training, for a more personal touch.
But don’t worry, that’s not all. The resort also includes a spinning studio, Pilates and yoga studios and an NBA-sized basketball court space—and we haven’t even talked about the pools yet. Oh, the pools. A total of four pools will be included with your stay. One is a 100-foot lap pool (that can actually be easily redesigned to turn it into two pools), an indoor hydrotherapy pool, an outdoor 100-foot lap pool, and a 25-foot children’s area. And yes, there’s even another hydrotherapy outdoor pool.
Plus, Chicagoans can rejoice because one of the outdoor decks will even be transformed into an ice hockey rink come the wintertime, so you’ll be able to use it at any time of year.
