An Epic Mass Meditation Event Is Coming to New York's World Trade Center

It's going to be incredible.

Over 1,000 of New York’s chillest millennials will head to the new Oculus World Trade Center Transportation Hub in Manhattan on Sunday, October 16, for an evening of meditation, super-chill performances, and networking.
It’s the latest spiritually-minded experience created by The Big Quiet, a meditation initiative that founder, Jesse Israel, kicked off in 2015. His most recent event took place at Summerstage in Central Park – literally thousands of people from all over NYC came together to connect, meditate, and socialize. Before that, he was at yet another breath-taking, landmark venue; the Lincoln Center, again connecting hundreds of entrepreneurs, writers, creatives, lawyers, venture capitalists, and more wellness-minded people from all corners of the city to zen-out and socialize.
While he doesn’t exclusively target millennials, Israel certainly does a stellar job at attracting 20-and-30-somethings to meditation. In fact, if you’re in that age-bracket and live in NYC, chances are you know someone who went to one of the recent events. If not, we bet you saw the buzzy events all over Instagram.

Next, The Big Quiet’s constructing 1,000 seats in centric circles to reflecting the Oculus’s unique shape. There will be sound meditation, a 360-degree string quartet, powerful vocalists, and a performance from a surprise DJ who’s yet to be announced. As someone who personally regularly meditates on the couch wearing pajamas, I know it doesn’t really matter where or how you practice, but this event sounds unmissable.
Oh, and newbies, don’t be intimidated by the experience: This isn’t just for regular meditators. First-timers will be given some simple instructions at the beginning to help guide them through the practice.
The upcoming event is a partnership with athleisure brand Kit and Ace and the Port Authority of New York, and a portion of all ticket sales will support the HEART 9/11 foundation. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m., with meditation and performances kicking off at 9 p.m. Then, from 10 p.m. you will have time to enjoy the DJ and chat with the other guests.
Tickets are available online right now, so get moving – this is sure to sell-out fast.
