Most of the time, when celebrities bring out merchandise, it’s just a liiiiitle bit cringeworthy. I mean, just because I like a celeb’s music, doesn’t necessarily mean I want to buy their sickly sweet perfume — usually called something like ‘Fluffi Pink Star.’
Then, there’s Rihanna. Somehow, the songstress seems to be exempt from the celeb cringe factor — probably because everything she does is effortlessly cool. Her products don’t feel like something someone else has created them for her, then splashed her face all over them. Take Fenty Beauty, for instance. Not only are the products genuinely amazing, but you can tell she’s played a hands-on role in nearly every aspect of production.
Yep, every project Riri works on is an extension of her badass personal brand (am I starting to sound like a fangirl now?) and her latest FENTY x PUMA collection is no exception. The athleisure collection has a masculine motorcross feel, with a touch of feminity. Think oversized, androgynous silhouettes, paired with sexy, skintight swimwear, bold branding, daredevil detailing, and splashes of neon. While the new threads are technically part of the US spring collection, we say they’re perfect for an athleisure wardrobe upgrade here in Aus, too.
The Barbadian singer and entrepreneur poses alongside model Slick Woods in the campaign, sporting the fluorescent collection and never-before-seen strappy boots. The collection will be available from Puma stores and puma.com.au from March 15. But in the meantime, you can check out more of the fierce campaign images below.
