You’re not alone if you like to get busy between the shirts first thing on Sunday mornings.
Sure, some people go to the gym or brunch, but, most of us, apparently, prefer to have a work out in the bedroom. According to a new sex study surveying 2,000 adults published by the Daily Mail and The Independent, the most popular time of the week for couples to have sex is 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
Makes sense, right? There’s still enough time for a decent sleep-in, and what better prelude to your Sunday morning avocado toast than getting cheeky between the sheets? And if you’re late for brunch, we’re sure your friends will understand.
Sex expert Alix Fox told The Independent that she wasn’t surprised Sunday morning came out on top (ahem): “People are relaxed, and have more time on their hands, so a lay-in often leads to getting laid. And that can be lovely!”
The study also found that Saturdays are collectively more popular for sex than every other day with 10.30 p.m. Saturday and 11.30 p.m. Saturday taking the second and third most common times.
Meanwhile, Mondays and Tuesdays were the least popular times for sex, with couples favouring later in the week and weekends to get busy. And we get it—busy work schedules (read: stress) and a social life can make time sexy time a bit more difficult.
On that note, stop reading this and enjoy your Sunday!
