Ex-Olympian, Michael Klim is one of the most recognisable names (and faces) in Australian sport. His laid-back and friendly demeanour made him stand out in the sea of swimmers. When injuries forced his retirement in 2007, he turned his attention to his family, his men’s skincare range, and finding balance outside of the pool. Meanwhile, our very own Amodrn founder and MD, Bianca Cheah is a living, breathing advocate for healthy living. With a background in media, interior design and IT, along with being a qualified yoga instructor, Bianca has spent the last decade becoming an authority on wellness, beauty, and stylish living. Both embrace a healthy, balanced attitude to food and fitness, despite their busy schedules.
So, when these formidable wellness experts caught up at Melbourne’s Yoga 213 Studio, we were lucky enough to get the inside scoop.

Bianca, a dedicated yogi and qualified instructor, walked Michael, a beginner, through some of the yoga basics. Think downward dog, tree pose, and child’s pose. She even challenged him to some trickier poses, including a handstand and The Wild Thing. The result? A few laughs and quite possibly a bit of soreness (the good kind).
Come afternoon, the duo were ready to refuel. They tucked into a delicious, nutritious spread of fresh fruit, raw vegetables, bliss balls, Greek-style yoghurt and hard cheeses. This selection of cheeses not only satisfied Bianca’s self-confessed Parmesan addiction but also proved to be the perfect post-workout snack. Cheese is naturally rich in high-quality protein, and low GI, so it helps keep hunger at bay. The best part? If you’re lactose intolerant, you don’t need to give up cheese (hallelujah!), because most cheeses contain little-to-no lactose.
Of course, it was all washed down with sparkling water and some lactose-free milk. After all, milk is one of the best drinks for rehydration and refuelling after exercise. Not to mention, its unique combination of whey and casein proteins is incredibly important for muscle growth and repair (ahem, aforementioned soreness!)
All in all, we can safely assume that both Bianca and Michael left the studio feeling revived and refreshed.
Want to make your own Ricotta and Cherry Protein balls, like the ones Michael and Bianca ate on the day? Of course, you do. These ones use ricotta and skim milk powder for the protein boost. Here’s the recipe:
Ricotta and Cherry Protein Ball Recipe
¼ cup of Oat bran
2/3 cup of Hazelnut meal
250g wedge reduced fat firm ricotta
2 tablespoons honey
¼ cup chopped dried cherries or cranberries
¼ cup chopped dried pears
1/4 cup skim milk powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1/3 cup chia seeds (we used a combination of black and white)
