Races can be intimidating, we get it. Cruising through nature and camping under the stars with friends? Not so much.
Enter Ragnar Relay, the once-in-a-lifetime team running challenge. Ragnar Relay is about doing things together that we could never do alone – either out running on the road or on the trail. Feed your sense of wonder and ditch the pressure you’d experience from a traditional road race with fun overnight courses and supportive teams. Running party under the stars? Sign us up!
Ragnar Relays aren’t just for the running obsessed. If you’re looking to dip your toes into racing, consider this a fun place to get started. Teams make the race both fun and manageable in an encouraging environment as you run a variety of leg lengths and loops ranging from 3.5 to 15 miles.
As you move your way through each scenic route, you’re surrounded by teammates that help keep you entertained and energized. As it turns out, running with an exercise partner is proven to offer encouragement as well as practical and emotional support. Find your running buddies, and they’ll not only push you during the race, but keep you accountable and make sure you show up for training!
With a variety of courses, we’re especially eyeing the Ragnar Trail Los Coyotes-CA, happening this November 9-10, 2018, at the Los Coyotes Reservation (about two hours outside of San Diego). With a series of rugged double track trails starting and ending from the center, Ragnar Village, runners will let loose into an alpine wonderland of junipers, pines and oaks and experience views of the Anza-Borrego Desert to the east and layers of beautiful mountain ranges to the west.
Sound idyllic? It gets better! Ragnar Trail, presented by Salomon, is an overnight trail running adventure, which means that when the sun goes down you’ll be running under the starry desert skyline. After each loop you’ll return to the support of your teammates and the cheers of the teams around you. When you’re not running, you can rest your legs next to the campfire, chow down on s’mores, and enjoy some well-deserved relaxation.
No matter your skill level or aversion to running, we have a feeling you’ll come to love the challenge of pushing yourself to go further together with Ragnar Relay. Registration prices go up starting September 5th, so don’t delay! BRB, we’re officially off to start scouting our team. You in?
