Regardless of your feelings towards the Kardashian and Jenner family, these women have access to all the latest and greatest treatments and tools when it comes to beauty and skincare, which makes their opinions on the topics interesting. Which is why it’s so interesting that Khloe Kardashian recommended a natural, affordable acne-zapping technique above all else.
When asked by a fan on Twitter how she treats her pimples, the 33-year-old reality TV star and “Strong Looks Better Naked” author recommended the humble tea tree oil as a cure-all. “@khloekardashian what’s one of your favourite skin care products?? My skin has been acting up lately I need some products,” the fan tweeted above their acne-prone skin.
Khloé wasted no time in responding with her (refreshingly affordable) blemish-curing tip. “If you are going to spot treat… Tea tree oil really helps in spot treating. You can Google it,” she tweeted in response.

Tea tree oil has been used as a natural acne fix for generations, thanks to its potent anti-bacterial properties. The oil is extracted from a native Australian plant called Melaleuca alternifolia. You will probably recognise the distinctive minty scent as it’s commonly used in skincare products targeted to treating acne, cleansing pores, and drying out pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads but also as a natural way to topically disinfect wounds and cuts.
If your skin is sensitive, most experts wouldn’t recommend tea tree oil as a spot treatment as it can be both drying and irritating–which isn’t a good mix for skin that becomes red or inflamed easily.
Best of all is the fact you can easily and cheaply pick-up tea tree oil from your chemist or supermarket for under $10. Or, you could spend a little more and snag an organic one online right now. Either way, we’re all for Khloe’s natural, affordable acne remedy.
