Not sure about you, but I’ve had a girl crush on Jessica Biel since she played Mary Camden in 7th Heaven. Most recently she sprung back on to my radar in her epic role on The Sinner (if you haven’t already seen the first season, do yourself a favour—it’s on Netflix). But what we love most about the actress, wife to JT and mum is her passion for health and wellness and her dedication to maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
In an exclusive partnership with wellness brand, Gaiam, Biel has signed up for a multiyear collab brokered by Sequential Brands Group to launch an exciting yoga capsule catering to yogis of all levels. “Fitness and wellbeing have been a part of my life forever,” Biel says in a press statement. “I grew up outdoors playing soccer, and I was a gymnast, so this is who I really am.”

Over the years, Biel admits to having to forego the black flips and tucks of her gymnast days to adopt new routines. “I started getting into yoga about 10 years ago through a close friend who was an instructor,” says Biel. “At first I felt like, ‘I can’t do all those crazy poses,’ and I still can’t, but I’m not competing with anyone.
Biel states: “I want to demystify yoga and bring it out to more women and men in the community, where it doesn’t have to be intimidating.”
For Gaiam, it was obvious from the get go that this partnership would be a match made in heaven. “As soon as we started thinking about who would be the best ambassador for us, Jessica was at the top of our list,” said Karen Murray, chief executive officer of Sequential Brands Group. “She’s about as authentic as they come; she practices yoga every other day and she’s a wife, mother, actress and activist. She really wants to put her mark on the brand; this is more than a one-season blip.”

Often snapped strutting her stuff down the red carpet, Biel also wanted the line to have an element of fashion yet still be versatile. “We want you to be able to throw one of these beautiful pieces on and go to yoga class, go to an exercise class, or don’t do that at all and go to the supermarket,” she said. “You can take your kids to school, throw on some heels and go to a lunch meeting, or throw on a coat and some bigger heels and go on a date. We want this line to be able to take you anywhere.”
Biel said the brand for her also carries a trusted sense of familiarity in more ways than one, as Gaiam was founded in her hometown, Boulder, Colorado.
The signature yoga collection draws inspiration from the runways and features an assortment of activewear and yoga accessories including leggings, tops, jackets which you can check out here.
