Boxers are amongst some of the fittest athletes you’ll ever come across. Boxing requires agility, strength, power, speed and an unbelievable amount of conditioning for endurance. For everyone else who simply just enjoys it as a workout, increased muscle tone, improved cardio and stress management are just some of the mental and physical benefits you’ll reap from a session.
When it comes to specialised boxing studios in Sydney, to say that you’re spoilt for choice is an understatement. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out 12RND Fitness, Undercard and Hustle Boxing in Potts Point—the newest fitness hub on the block.
Celebrating the modern-day hustler, each class is themed to a different hustler in their field—Beyoncé, Adriana Lima, Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, Michael Jordan and the original and most celebrated hustler, the Godfather (Hustle Boxing’s signature class).
Curated by head trainers, Dan Conn, Ellice Whichello and Andrew Papadopoulos, workouts blend strength and conditioning with full-body functional boxing exercises. Each 50-minute class ranges from 8-16 rounds provides a full-body burn through cardio, speed, dynamic and strength-themed workouts.
“Boxing is proven to increase endorphins and decrease depression. There is no greater feeling than putting your gloves on and releasing the day’s stresses onto the bag. At Hustle Boxing we will focus on educated movement for the body and mind,” says Hustle’s head trainer, Dan Conn.
Hustle Boxing also uses state-of-the-art equipment including Aqua Bags to absorb the shock of each punch and protect the wrist, Y bells, resistance bands and sliders at each personal full-body conditioning station that helps minimise risk of injury.
The custom-built studio, designed by award-winning architect Tomas Scerbo from Interior Life, is where luxury meets fitness. Guests walk into the light reception and retail space, before making their way upstairs to the premium bathrooms fitted out with DYSON hairdryers and Ashley & Co bathroom products.
