Product launch? Engagement? Birthday bash? Wedding? Whatever the occasion, we’ve found just the thing to take your next event from zero to a hundred real quick.
Introducing the Wandering Bar.
Designed and DIY-ed by the girls over at Eleven Events (you may recognise those grazing tables from our most recent Table for 12 events in Sydney) here, founders Amy Middlemiss and Jess Cornell share with us how they took an old caravan and turned it into a highly sought-after party prop (which comes equipped with a barman and yes, all your favourite bevvies on tap, including kombucha).

The inspiration:

“The idea evolved organically and was the result of lots of ideas. But mainly a creation that married both my background in hospitality and events and Jess’s in interior design and styling. It was a way for us two to start a business together that combined all our passions and skills.”

The transition from caravan to bar:

It was definitely a journey, it started with months of searching for an old caravan that we liked the shape, look and feel of. We ended up buying a 1970’s Millard caravan and from there we started creating the overall design and concept. We knew we wanted to steer clear of the vintage, retro look and wanted a more classic, modern feel, something that we think separates us. We wanted to design something that could wander and be used for a range of occasions and events. A functional but aesthetically beautiful bar, that fits within all landscapes whether it be a hinterland property in Byron, a luscious green parkland in Sydney, on the coast by the beach or in a warehouse in a more industrial setting.”
“Our benches are made from sustainable Tasmanian Oak and Terrazzo Stone slabs. We have Spanish herringbone tiles covering the back wall and Venetian looking bifolds windows that open up. Everything in the bar is carefully and thoughtfully handpicked and curated. One thing we did always want to be able to offer was drinks on tap! So as well as chilled wine and cocktails, we can serve cold beer and even kombucha on tap.”

The offerings:

“Our Wandering Bar is perfect for private events, weddings, photoshoots, corporate and brand activations. We have a range of offerings but one of our favourites is our recovery parties. This is where we come, or stay for the day after the big celebration, (could be a wedding, a birthday or Christmas do) and we serve barista made coffee, Bloody Marys, Mimosas, all those post-party necessities.”
“One of the main reasons we designed her to be so classic-looking is that she can look beautiful and suit any occasion by herself, but also lends herself to be adorned with our amazing dried floral piece (that is included when booking her), which you can see in most of the imagery of the bar. Or we can completely brand her with company colours and decals and organise branded materials such as keep cups for coffee or branded coconuts for guest to drink.”
“We also offer our Pop Up Bars for those events that might not be able to accommodate our Wandering Bar. We use a range of timber bar stands which can also be branded, to serve cocktails, beers and wines from. They have been really popular for store launches accompanied by one of our Grazing Tables.”

How to book:

The Wandering Bar is based in Sydney but journeys up and down the East Coast to Byron, Hunter Valley and the South Coast.
