Beauty tools like Clarisonic, NuFace, and Foreo hit the mainstream in 2017 as being the way to score breakout-free, glowing, smooth skin. We now know that simply cleansing, toning, moisturizing probably won’t be enough to get most of us perfect skin, but adding a beauty tool or two into the mix could certainly help—especially if you can’t afford regular facials and professional treatments.
Actress Hilary Duff seconded this opinion in a recent interview with Refinery29, lauding a certain tool—which Khloe Kardashian also previously heralded as the “magic wand of beauty”—that she says gets her though early starts and long days without puffiness.
So what is this secret weapon Duff and Kardashian are both so obsessed with? Nurse Jamie’s UpLift Facial Massaging Beauty Roller, a $69 tool that uses a “rhythmic rolling action” to massage, revive, and uplift the skin in 30-45 seconds. The device is designed to replicate the massages that celebrity skincare expert and Registered Nurse, Jamie, is known for giving in her treatments in luxury spas across Los Angeles, New York, and internationally.
In the interview with Refinery29, Duff explained that she uses the device most mornings before filming Younger: “I don’t have time to do it all the time, but when I am filming, they pick me up for work, so I just sit there and roll my face out on the way,” Duff said. “I swear to god it helps decrease puffiness and tightens my skin. If I’m getting picked up at 4 in the morning and working until 9 at night, then this helps.”
Even though most of us probably aren’t dealing with 17-hour work days (hopefully!), the massage tool could still be the ticket you need to decrease puffiness in your face—particularly after a late night.
