Creating the perfect balance between a natural base and a chic, black liner can be a challenge. But it’s a strong look that’s well worth knowing. So today, I’m going to show you just how to do it using my muse, Annabella Barber.
This look is all about building a flawless fresh base, adding a flush cheek and finishing it off with a dark liner. It was designed to highlight naturally radiant skin and make the eyes pop.
Want to learn how to do it? Below, I walk you through the look step-by-step and show you the amazing products I used so you can recreate it at home.
Prep
Begin by prepping the skin with Nivea Micellar Water to cleanse and remove dirt, oil and makeup residue and apply Laura Mercier Radiance Primer to create longevity to the look along with a gorgeous glow to the skin.
Face
The foundation I used for the look today is Armani Luminous Silk, I applied this product with the dual ended IT Cosmetics Foundation Brush. Ensure to bug the product into the skin starting from the centre of the face.
Create dimension to the face by applying Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate. Subtly contour the cheekbones, temple and jawline and apply the highlight product to the tops of the cheekbones, centre of the nose and the inner eye.
Powder the T-zone with MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Skin Finish Powder to ensure that this area is not shiny. This powder is great as it allows the skin to look like skin.
Eyes
The eyes are the focus for the look. Begin by using Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage Quad Palette to create shadow in the eye socket. Blend the shadow so that there are no harsh lines with the MAC Cosmetics 217 Brush. This brush fits perfectly in the eye socket. I use one to apply the product and a clean brush to blend the product. Blending the product is much easier when there is no product on the makeup brush.
Curl the lashes using the Shu Uemura Lash Curler before creating the feline liner with the ultimate of all liners, the amazing Bobbi Brown Gel Liner. This liner does not move once it is on the eye. It is waterproof and perfect for a look which has to last day and night.
Apply the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
Lips
Finish the look using the Chantecaille Lipstick in Daphne. This lipstick is the perfect lip colour to enhance your natural lip shade. It is nourishing and moisturising and great to keep the lips hydrated.
And, voila!
