Felicity Palmateer is practically a mermaid. As an Australian and a professional surfer, you wouldn’t need to see her to know that … but a photo would certainly validate it.
It’s not just her long blonde locks and her grace in the sea that make her a goddess. She’s also an advocate for marine conservation and an artist on the side. But don’t go thinking she’s some good-girl. Palmateer set the record for the biggest wave ever surfed by an Australian woman. I mean, seriously, do you have a crush yet?
If you’re not in love, you’d have to be envious. With her job she gets to travel the world, visiting untouched beaches in pursuit of an endless summer. We sat down with Felicity Palmateer aka Flick to get to know her. She spilled the beans on her obsession with bulletproof coffee, let us in on her daily routine and revealed the beauty saviour she can’t travel without. Read on to ignite your obsession.

Advice I would give my 20 yr. old self: “Hey, don’t stress so much!”
People are surprised that I: Hmm, not sure. Maybe, that’s a question for anyone but me?
I’m inspired by (person, place or idea): My dad! He got me into surfing (even when it was big and I didn’t want to go out), has supported me always and inspired me to pursue art.
The biggest risk I have taken (that has paid off) is: surfing in the first-ever women’s big wave event on Maui last year in gigantic waves, making the final and placing 3rd!
From my mistakes, I have learnt: that from them you can achieve personal growth. We’re all going to make mistakes, it’s part of life. Keep movin’ on!

Wake up time: 5:30am/6am
Morning ritual: hugs, coffee/walk, then surf.
Health snack that’s $$$ but worth it: bulletproof coffee. My new fave. A coconut oil blend.
Last thing I do at night: brush my teeth
Guilty pleasure: coconut milk ice cream and chocolate, please.

Where I go for a hit of culture: being an artist I love the occasional gallery and/or museums. And surfing has taken me to amazing places like PNG, French Polynesia, Fiji, Hawaii … where strong cultural traditions reign.
Favourite place to sweat: the beach or gym.

Sports bra: Billabong of course! I’ve been with them for 10 years so we’re like family. Their new active wear range is all any girl needs.
