So, to get to the bottom of this issue (pun intended), we asked Jamie Blakey, Founder & Creative Director of OneTeaspoon, to share the best styles of jeans for the most common bum shapes. From fit to length, everything you need to know can be found right here.
If you have a bigger bum…
Do: “Go for mid to high waist skinny leg. This will hold everything in, but make sure you find one that doesn’t gape at the waist. I’d also look for pockets that have a slight angle as this will make your butt appear smaller.”
Avoid: “Anything with too much shading or distressing around the bum if you want to flatter your assets.”

If you have a flat bum…
Do: “If you want to appear as though you have a fuller bum, then go for a mid waist skinny with back pocket detailing to “fluff” everything out. Otherwise, you can pretty much wear any fit as long as it’s slightly cropped.”
Avoid: “Full-length jeans. You don’t want jeans hanging off your bum and then hanging on the ground – you’ll appear too dragged out.”

If you have a small bum…
Do: “Small bottoms have a lot of options but my choice would be an oversized style. Low waist, slouchy with a turned up cuff to crop it out. You could even team them with a statement shoe to draw the eye down.”

If you’re heavier around the thighs…
Do: “Opt for flares or wide legged jeans in a classic blue or black wash as they’ll balance out your proportions, and flatter your butt.”
