Founded by one of the original owners of the late Updog Big Splash (a popular yoga space in Singapore’s east), along with one of its expert instructors and regular practitioners, Updog was formed with the expertise of the business, the practice and the consumer, proving for a truly unique experience.
The studio offers ten different classes (six per day) including both hot and non-hot yoga, as well as private tuition, from a group of highly skilled instructors. There are five hot classes available including Hot Flow, Hot Hatha and Baptiste Power Vinyasa – a 60-minute class to make you sweat that emphasises the flow of breath and the flow of movement – as well as non-heated classes such as Yoga Core, Pre-natal and Relax and Unwind – a 75-minute class suitable to those who are looking for a slow, gentle and restorative practice.
Aptly named, Updog prides itself on teaching an uplifting practice. It has a focus that extends beyond exercise and relaxation to exploring movement as a pathway to physical and mental healing. At the studio, they believe in combining alignment techniques of the body with breathing techniques to promote a sense of calm and balance – a method that resonated with Bianca Cheah on her recent visit to the studio.
