Most of us know we should be doing more yoga. From its amazing effects on your brain to improving your flexibility and mobility, the benefits are endless. But sometimes, you’re just too tired/stressed/busy to make it to a yoga class. We get it, it happens to the best of us! But ironically, these are the times when you need yoga the most.
Of course, you could just do a yoga session from the comfort of your own home. But unless you’re a pro, it can be hard to know what exactly you’re meant to be doing (so you end up just hanging out in child’s pose the entire time.) Plus, there’s nothing like having a yoga teacher there to to make sure you’re getting the most out of the postures.
But thanks to a new partnership between global yoga industry leader, Manduka and online yoga streaming service, Yogaia, the solution is here. You can now take live yoga sessions from teachers in London, Helsinki, and Los Angeles studios from the comfort of your living room. Not only will you be about to practice with teachers in real-time, you have the option of turning on your webcam for encouragement and guidance.
The teachings are recorded, so if you can’t make it to a live session you can watch and follow along with the classes at any time. More than 100 live classes are recorded each week, with options in various time zones across the US. There’s a variety of yoga styles, to cater for different experience levels.
While Yogaia has been available for Europe for a few years, this is its debut into the US market “We built Yogaia to bring yoga to more people around the world – wherever and however they live,” says Yogaia President Mikko Petäjä. “With Manduka’s esteemed reputation and enthusiastic customer base, we’re excited to expand into the US market with such a great partner.”
You can choose from a variety of membership plans, ranging from $9.99 to $19.99 per month. Memberships are offered on a monthly basis, with options for one month, three months and 12 months. There’s also 7-day free trial, available here and on the App Store.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Manduka is hosting a Yogaia livestream class on October 25th. In conjunction with Susan G. Komen and Project OM (an initiative to end cancer through practicing yoga) users will be able to participate in this class and receive 30 days of Yogaia if they donate $10. This class will go towards Manduka’s goal of having One Million participants in Project OM yoga classes in 2017.
