Everything about the restaurant, from the cooking and cuisine to the design of the interior, pays homage to numerous cultural influences, which creates an exciting place to get your vegetarian fix.
The menu
With an inventive cocktail list, local and international beer, you’ll be spoiled for choice when deciding what to drink at The Dandelion. Not to mention, there’s vegan wine options that use carbon preservation methods,
As for food, the scrambled tofu with Persian spiced vegetables and homemade chia hummus is firm favourite vegan option. While, their Veggie Burger, with brown rice, battered pickle and kumera chips, is a staple. We guarantee it will have your meat-loving friend coming back for more.
The Dandylion also features a list of regularly changing desserts. We recommend keeping an eye out for the rosewater and strawberry tarte with whipped coconut cream (it’s vegan and gluten free!)
The interior
Overlooked by a stunning mural of a woman blowing a dandelion, the restaurant’s interior features a rustic and modern industrial look. Exposed brick and recycled wood seating creates an ambient setting.
Recycled railway sleepers and antique wood create a wonderful aesthetic in the bar area, which is complemented by pendant feature lights from glass artist Diego Vides. Shelving is made from recycled timber and completes the aquatic aesthetic of Bondi.
High bench seating at the front of the restaurant caters for larger groups. While recycled Oregon tables feature in the more traditional dining area, perfect for a romantic dinner.
We suggest soaking up the sun outside in the Balinese style seating and enjoying some afternoon cocktails in the seaside breeze. Live Jazz music completes the atmosphere on Wednesday nights.
