This means that there’s A LOT of women out there walking around not feeling the best about themselves. In a bid to decrease these numbers and help women gain their confidence back, Dermalogica has released some pretty nifty products that will a) treat and prevent bad skin and b) stop you from cancelling on people (because no one appreciates being stood up).
Before we get into that, we just want to touch on the topic of sensitive skin. What exactly constitutes sensitive skin? Contrary to popular belief, there’s more to sensitive skin that just a product that may cause redness or irritation. Skin sensitivity can refer to anything that easily messes with your skin’s optimum balance. Think; genetics and triggers such as stress, diet, specific product ingredients, allergies and pollution — which brings us to our next point.
Pollution. It’s not just bad for our environment or our little fishy friends in the sea, pollution can also be doing your skin more damage than you know. Which is why Dermalogica has created a handy little feature that actually TELLS you.

Yep. Both super helpful and kinda scary at the same time, Dermalogica’s Skin Sensitivity Risk Index fetches your location and cleverly provides you with a degree to which you’re at risk of skin sensitivity at any given moment. (Ps. If you live in Sydney or any other major city, you will notice that it’s almost ALWAYS high). Yay for us.
Apart from giving you a lovely graphical image of where your risk sits on the scale, the tool also proceeds to reveal levels of pollution, temperature and humidity before recommending products that may work in your favour and counteract these baddies.
Such products include Dermalogica’s new UltraCalming Duo which consists of the Barrier Defence Booster and Calm Water Gel. These two products can be layered for maximum results or used separately to address any specific concern:

Calm Water Gel

Can we just say this gel feels like absolute heaven! It’s cool, watery consistency goes on smooth, and although it can feel quite wet at first, it evaporates almost instantly leaving with you soft skin as two different forms of Hyaluronic acid work together to provide immediate hydration. Key ingredients include aloe vera leaf juice and apple fruit extract to calm and soothe.

Barrier Defence Booster

This concentrated oil booster soothes, nourishes and moisturises to restore balance to sensitive skin and helps prevent skin irritation before it starts. It contains superfoods such as cucurminoids (turmeric) and oat kernel oil and can be applied directly onto the skin or mixed in with the Calm Water Gel.
