Make This Delicious Cacao Crunch Porridge For A High-Protein Breakfast

You know what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day—but sometimes you’re faced with the dilemma of what to have! Whether you like to start your day with a sweet or savoury option, one of the most important things to keep in mind is getting a good balance of all the essential nutrients.
The below cacao crunch porridge recipe by Tropeaka contains oats for a sustained, slow-release of energy throughout your morning, fibre-filled flax seeds for digestive health, banana for sweetness and chocolate-flavoured protein powder for a boost of protein.
The best part about this recipe is that it only takes about 10 minutes to whip up and it feels like you’re enjoying something a little naughty but it’s entirely good for you! Simply top with your favourite low-sugar fruits (we can’t go past strawberries and blueberries) and sprinkle with raw cacao nibs for the ultimate crunch minus the sugar.
This recipe uses almond milk, but you can use whatever milk or milk alternative you like, and if you’re really keen you can make a big batch on a Sunday evening for a quick and easy breakfast-on-the-go for those busy weekday mornings when you’re rushing out the door.

Recipe: Cacao Crunch Porridge

Time: 10 mins
Serves: 1-2
1 cup quick oats (look for gluten-free oats)
1 tbsp flax seeds
1 tbsp  Tropeaka Cacao
1 mashed banana
1 cup water
1 cup almond milk
1 tbsp cacao nibs
1. Combine all ingredients except the cacao nibs into a saucepan and simmer on medium until thickened.
2. Pour into a bowl and add on fresh strawberries or your favourite toppings. Enjoy.
