You love matcha, I love matcha – everybody loves the finely-milled derivative of green tea. It’s all of our favorite drink to order now, Instagram later, which is exactly why New York’s newly-opened morning beverage stop, Cha Cha Matcha is proving to be such a hit.
Here to settle the coffee-versus-tea debate for once and all, the cafe serves matcha tea, soft serve, and perhaps our favorite thing on the menu; matcha lemonade. Early fans of the concept (and regular customers) include models Jasmine Tookes, Gigi Hadid, Josephine Skriver, and Taylor Hill.
Benefits of the ancient Japanese drink – aside from being able to use #matcha on your ‘gram and get a healthier fix of caffeine- include its antioxidant-right, inflammation-fighting properties. Matcha is also packed with amino acids like L-Theanine, which is believed to help the brain calm and focus. A pretty good counter to your morning caffeine hit, don’t you think?
One of the most popular items on Cha Cha Matcha’s menu is their green lemonade, which cofounder Matthew Morton told us how to make below. It’s so easy, absolutely anyone can make it – yep, even you!
