Forget diamonds — gold might be a girl’s new best friend. 24 carat gold to be exact.
Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, the Ottoman-inspired luxury resort in Dubai, have unveiled what is quite possibly the world’s most indulgent spa experience at the award-winning Talise Ottoman Spa in association with Margy’s Monte Carlo. And yes, you guessed it, 24 carat gold is the involved.
The main component is a gold facial designed by founder of Margy’s, Margie Lombard, using a 24 carat gold chain mail mask. And although you may look like a knight of the Round Table, this treatment is touted to transform skin into a smoother, brighter, younger-looking version of itself. How so, you wonder? Gold conducts ions which stimulate cellular growth of the basal layer, regenerating firm skin cells and providing a tightening effect.
The 90-minute facial is part of a full-day treatment package, and also includes a revitalizing Arabian gold Hammam, a Rose Bliss and Argan oil massage, relaxation time in the jacuzzi, as well as a champagne and caviar lunch held within a private spa suite.
So does this gold facial really impart a lit-from-within glow? Former supermodel, Rachel Hunter recently indulged in this spa experience, documenting it on her new TV show, Tour of Beauty. And if her cherub-like complexion is anything to go by, then maybe gold is really worth the hype.
However, as you would expect this treatment comes at a price and will set you back a mere $6800. Although it sounds positively dreamy, we’ll stick to the occasional swipe of gold eyeshadow for that midas touch.
