We’ve hit that point in the year where everyone is craving change. Maybe it’s because spring is on its way or because most of us are still a few months away from a vacation — and you know what they say, a change is a good as a holiday! Either way, everyone we know seems to be making big life decisions, moving somewhere new or even switching careers.
However, not everyone is in a position where they can drastically change their lives just because they’re in a rut. Sometimes, even making smaller changes can go a long way in giving you a fresh perspective. If you ask us, one of the best ways to do that is by revamping your living space.
Rearranging your furniture or buying some new pieces is a super easy way to breathe new life into your space. But when you spend so much time there, it can be hard to figure out what to change. Sometimes, you need a fresh set of eyes to spark inspiration. That’s why we’re so obsessed with a game-changing new interior design app called Hutch.

What is Hutch?

You know how in the movie Clueless, Cher has the digital wardrobe where she can mix and match her clothes? Well, Hutch is kind of a mix between that and Tinder. We know — it sounds a little strange, but hear us out!
Here’s how it works: you take a photo of your space and put it your budget. The app then virtually measures your furniture and suggests different looks for your space, like industrial, relaxed or floral. As you swipe through the styles, the furniture in your photo will change — so you can imagine what it would look like in your space.
The best part is, you can buy the stylish and affordable furniture directly off the ap!. At the moment, the furniture is sourced from Hutch’s catalogue of in-house designers. But the app currently has deals underway with stores like Target, Urban Outfitters and Nordstrom to expand the range.

The first version of Hutch was launched on the TV show Shark Tank in 2015, by US college student Beatrice Fischel-Bock. While decorating her own apartment, she decided to create an app that would help her visualise her dream space (as you do!) While the deal on the show fell through, Tinder co-founder Sean Rad happened to be watching — and invested $2.2 million into the company. Since then, Hutch has secured a whopping $17 million in funding.
The app itself is free, but obviously any furniture needs to be purchased. Currently, Hutch only delivers its furniture in the US, we wouldn’t be surprised if they introduced international shipping in the near future.
You can download Hutch here (iOS) and here (Android).
