You’ve probably heard us rave about Hom Yoga. The brain child of passionate entrepreneur Malvina Kang, Hom Yoga is a set of wildly successful yogastudios, stretching from Asia to Australia.
With Amodrn’s own Bianca Cheah hailing it her favourite go-to when in Singapore, their new Sydney instalment is a welcome addition to the yoga community. The original, critically acclaimed Darlinghurst studio has brought forth a second location in Surry Hills. Yogis can expect to unravel their mats in the sleek and modern space on 479 Bourke Street.
Floor to ceiling mirrors, and a selections of hot flow vinyasa or yin classes await. If you’re totally new to yoga, don’t fret, beginner classes are available along with an introductory seven day trial. There’s also private classes if you want to learn the basics without the stress of tumbling over yourself in crow pose (relax, yoga is for everyone). Or if you find yourself on the other end of the scale, i.e expertly-enlightened-headstanding-yogi, and looking to further your practice, then Hom’s renowned 200 hour Teacher Training runs twice a year (click here for more details).
Whatever it is, you’ll be sure to find something to spark your yogic curiosity. From traditional heated/non-heated Vinyasa flows that will build strength and bring fun to your practice, or the slower paced Yin to work deep within the connective tissue. Better yet, you may very well opt for a combination of both with their Yin-Yang class, offering both a flow class and longer periods of stretching. The highly qualified teachers bring their own personality to the class and will lead you through a combination of sequences, which you can adapt to your own level.
Trialled and approved by your very own Team Amodrn, we look forward to rolling out our mats on the regular for some lunchtime yoga! We’ll meet you in downward dog.
