Here’s How You Can Beat the Holiday Bloat, According to a Doctor
Dr Michele Koo recommends the following:
- Steam, hot yoga, Pilates or bundle up go out for a brisk 15 minute walk to get circulation going to get rid of retained water after too much holiday’ing.
- Try clean refreshing scented (eg eucalyptus) NO fragrance skin products to calm and soothe skin. We love to relax after a long day with family and food using this method.
- Use a Hyaluronic Hydration Myst or a Antioxidant Vitamin Serum followed by a cool jade skin roller to de-bloat your face and under the eyes.
PA-C Laura Dyer recommends the following:
- Drink room temperature water frequently with lemon to flush out toxins and start that recirculation.
- Get a lymphatic drainage massage to help you feel more energized and improve your digestion, circulation and metabolic rate (so that you can burn calories more efficiently). It will also reduce bloating and water retention, alleviate constipation and help you sleep better too.
- Indulge in a steam after a workout. This will de-bloat you quickly as well as make you feel light and relaxed. A steam or sauna flushes tons of toxins out of the body.
