We caught up with the original pioneer of contemporary yoga in Australia and the Founder, Master Facilitator and CEO of Power Living, Duncan Peak to chat about his life beyond the mat.

Born: Country Wagga Wagga. Lives: Byron Bay/Sydney. Known for: Transformational yoga for the masses. Personal motto: It is as it is, not as I make it. Success is: Lifestyle, friends, inner peace and surfing hollow waves. Advice I would give my 20 yr. old self: Follow your heart and don’t compromise your values to achieve your goals. People are surprised that I: Rock a harmonica and put my feet behind my head. I’m inspired by: People who have so little but are so happy. The biggest risk I have taken (that has paid off) is: Buying my first yoga studio before it was really cool, especially for macho men…haha how times have changed! From my mistakes, I have learnt: They occur, they are the journey, be a big person and your problems will be smaller. My most used emoji is: Fist pump – always stocked for people.
Wake up time: 6am. Morning ritual: Yoga, meditate, surf. Desk lunch: I don’t have a desk…eat clean. Last thing I do at night: Kiss my girl. Guilty pleasure: Dirty martinis…lol don’t feel guilty. 3 things vital to my day: Gratitude, laughter and exercise. Cafe:Bayleaf (Byron Bay) or Cooh (Curl Curl, Sydney) Juice: Green smoothies. Coffee: Double shot latte extra hot! Culture stop: Bali’s sunsets and people. Studio/gym:Powder Living Australia Yoga or Mana Gym Byron Bay.
