Are you eating healthier than ever, yet still feeling more tired than ever? Still gaining weight? Are you ‘hangry’ with mood swings despite eating lean and clean? Does it seem like your body could be working against you? If something doesn’t seem to be adding up and your symptoms are causing you suffering–you are not alone. Without knowing it, your good intentions could be paving the way to your body feeling miserable.
Food sensitivity and food allergies could be sabotaging you even though you are eating what most would define as “healthy.” What is important to understand is that “healthy” varies on an individual basis. Theron Randolph, known as the father of Environmental Science and Clinical Ecology claims that 90% of people have some kind of allergy or sensitivity. The majority of these people have no idea that their symptoms are related to some of the foods they are eating are poisoning them on a daily basis.
Deciding to get a food allergy and intolerance test could be the missing puzzle piece for your diet. Before I had a food allergy test, I was miserable. Drinking over 5 cups of coffee a day to just keep my energy up. I was still crashing and suffering from headaches and gut issues. I had not connected that eating dairy and wheat products were two culprits causing me awful stomach issues that would continue for days. On the verge of accepting that I was going to feel like this for life, my doctor finally encouraged me to get blood work for Food Allergy and Intolerances. The results were shocking and have fundamentally changed my life and health since.
Coffee, anchovies, octopus, and kidney beans were all allergies for me. Foods that I believed were healthy and were regular parts of my diet! The five coffee’s a day were poisoning me and I was blind to this vital information. Also not recommended for me were any corn products, wheat, tiger nuts, pistachios or cashews. Cashews and pistachios were in the majority of protein bars that I was snacking on daily.
This information is vital for everyone. Knowledge is power and this knowledge could be the difference between your health or your suffering. Once you have discovered your food intolerances you can restructure your diet to good health and wellness. Food allergy tests provide you the chance to work with your body, instead of against it.
I combined this knowledge with the Blood Type diet to tailor my diet to my individual body chemistry. I am blood type A, the blood type diet correlated with my allergy test. When you follow the Blood Type diet, you can supercharge your immune system and potentially short-circuit the development of life-threatening diseases. Removing food intolerances from your system allows your body to use food as fuel instead of a toxin.
Blood Type A individuals thrive best on plant-based diets without dairy and wheat. Eliminating the toxic choices gave my body the ability to detoxify and gave my system the freedom to have the energy it deserved. Once I added these tweaks to my dietary choices, my prior symptoms and suffering diminished. I felt well again.
These results have provided me with the incentive to stick to this diet religiously. Once you are in tune with your body, you are your own best healer. The more information you can learn about your individual system, the more power you have to serve it.
