Exactly What This Nutritionist's Daily Routine Looks Like

One of the most common questions I’m asked is what my daily routine looks like. While my work days are incredibly bust, I try to abide by a healthy routine. I think that maintaining a routine is such an essential element in living a healthy life. So, this is what a typical day looks like for me. I incorporate movement, mindfulness and lots of healthy rituals. You can use it as a rough guide and adjust according to your lifestyle.

6.30am: Mindful morning routine

Wake up, do a body love scan, list three things I’m grateful for and practise deep belly breathing. Then, I pop a probiotic, drink hot water with lemon and put on my exercise clothes for my daily workout.

7.30am: Work out

I work out for 30 to 40 minutes I alternate between yoga, walking and HIIT.

8am: Pre-meal meditation and breakfast

I whip up a quick and nourishing breakfast, which is usually a protein-rich smoothie, chia pudding or overnight oats.

9am: Start work

I always feel more creative in the mornings, so I’ll set aside time to brainstorm, conceptualise and write.

1pm: Pre-meal meditation and lunch

Sometimes, I try to squeeze in a walk outside post–lunch.

2pm: Work

In the afternoons, I often have meetings about my vitamins, app, books or media requests. I also follow up on emails, have team meetings and plan my to-do list for the following day.

4-5pm: Enjoy an afternoon snack

I enjoy a protein-rich snack in the afternoon. This keeps my energy levels up, and tides me over until dinnertime so I avoid overeating.

6.30pm: Enter the JSHealth Stress-free zone

I love to spend 10 to 20 minutes decompressing after work. You’ll learn more about this throughout the program.

6.45pm: Cook dinner

My dinners are always simple and delicious. I alternate between one-pan recipes, stir-fries and oven bakes.

7pm: Pre–meal meditation and dinner

I ensure that I eat mindfully, chew slowly and savour the flavours.

8pm: Switch off

By 8pm, I switch off all social media, watch a feel-good TV show or curl up with a book and a cup of tea.

9pm: Nighttime routine

To prepare my body for rest, I’ll have a bath with Epsom salts and lavender, put my legs up against the wall and turn off my devices. At 9.30-10pm, it’s lights out. Bedtime.
