It’s a well known fact that a plentiful dose of H2O each day helps detox your body from the inside out, flush out unwanted toxins, promote healthier skin, metabolise fat easier and regulate body temperature. But did you know that 1 in 10 people worldwide don’t have access to safe, clean water? It’s a staggering statistic, which you can help change.
Coinciding with World Water Day on 22 March 2016, WaterAid Australia is challenging you to take the Water Challenge to not only improve your own health, but also help raise money and awareness for this worthwhile cause.
What is the water challenge?
The challenge is quite simple. Drink ‘just water’ for 14 or 30 days in March, or get active and take part in the original ‘Walk for Water’ challenge, which involves walking or running your way to good health between 14th and 20th March.
“The Water Challenge is a terrific opportunity for people to get healthy and support WaterAid in transforming the lives in the poorest and most marginalised people in the world by improving their access to clean and safe water, sanitation and hygiene,” said WaterAid Australia Chief Executive Paul Nichols.
So this March, with healthy habits on our minds, trade pitchers of beer and bottles of wine for glasses of water and you’ll reap the rewards of not only helping others, but also helping yourself. To prove our point, here are nine benefits of drinking water.
