Ever get to the end of a holiday to feel like you need another? Yep, I know that feeling all too well.
Whether your jetting off on an indulgent European holiday or hitting up the white sands of Fraser Island, there’s reward in maintaining a little bit of structure, even though you’re on holidays. Ritual can make for freedom.
So why not make the most of your next getaway and set up each day up with these easy peasy rituals.
4 easy morning rituals to take on holidays
-
Salute the sun
Just three or four sun salutes are a beautiful way to ‘touch’ every part of your body lightly first thing in the morning. Add a twist and lateral bend for a complete yoga experience and you’re set – you will have officially bended forward, backward, side and twisted – perfect. You don’t even need a mat. Freestyle it.
-
Get still
Ideally after your sun salutes, sit for five minutes focusing on nothing but the sound of your breath. Anchor your awareness to the way your body lightly reacts to the breath as your chest lifts and falls gently.
Set an intention for how you want to feel today. And take the quality of that feeling into everything you do – the way you eat, converse, interact and relax.
-
Savour
Enjoy where you are. Try not to spend all day buried in your phone or laptop – drink it all in. Eleanor Roosevelt said “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
Enjoy all your holiday moments, yogis.
Taste. Savour. Enjoy.
